After reading Camille’s resume, I had high hopes (and admittedly high expectations) for the first class I took from her. From her multiple Baptiste Power Yoga certifications, additional continuing education trainings, and years of teaching, she no doubt brings a lot of experience with her. That first class most certainly did not disappoint. Camille is a Power teacher through and through, inside the practice room and out. She is no nonsense and all business...in the best possible way. Direct, intentional, and powerful. While somehow managing to balance all that power and intent with a kind and supportive energy.
After many years teaching and thriving in NYC, Camille and her family recently transplanted to RVA. We are thrilled to welcome Camille to our roster of Power teachers and to Richmond! Practice Hot Power with Camille every Tuesday evening from 6-7:15pm.
What is your favorite style of class to teach and why?
I love teaching a hot, sweaty flow, driven by a well-curated playlist. I find that moving vigorously is the best prescription for getting students out of their heads and into their bodies and that music can add such a grounding element that invites and encourages freedom of movement.
What made you want to go beyond just practicing yoga and start teaching?
Yoga was and continues to be a mode of meditation for me. I felt so fortunate finding a way to move my body that took me out of my head- out of what things “looked like” and more into HOW things felt. I was able to find a way to disconnect from my mind in a way to allowed and invited me to truly connect to and with my body. I knew that this was something I needed to share with others.
If you had to describe your teaching style in 3 words or less, what would you say?
Powerful, Fiery, Fun
