Katie first found yoga in college when a friend brought her to a hot power class and she was soon hooked. After dancing her entire life, combining movement and breath just made sense. When Katie moved to Richmond from northern Virginia in 2015 she struggled to find a yoga “home” until finding Humble Haven a few months later. Completing HHY’s teacher training in 2018, she is thrilled to be able to share her love for yoga with others. Katie’s favorite thing about power yoga is the balance of effort and ease and she tries to carry that balance with her on and off the mat. When not practicing yoga, Katie can be found drinking coffee, cuddling with her dogs, or running.
Cruz is 26-year-old Chicago native who found himself living in Virginia after graduating from undergrad in 2014. He was working as a personal trainer when a friend invited him to take his first ever yoga class. Immediately, he knew that he wanted yoga to be a major part of his lifestyle, so he decided to embark on the journey to become a certified instructor. He spent a few years in NoVa teaching Power Vinyasa Yoga at a few studios and practicing the Ashtanga-based Rocket Yoga. During that time, he was also fortunate enough to start a volunteer-based project at Inova Fairfax Children’s Hospital, teaching yoga to patients and families on the hospital floor. As he continues following his dream of getting into medical school, he hopes to spread joy and positivity through his yoga classes.
Camille is a recent NYC transplant, having moved to RVA in December of 2017. In a quest to trade in a decade of the “grind” for a life of balance, Camille and her husband Jon, packed up their daughter Grace and French Bulldog Lulu and headed south. Yoga has been an integral part of Camille’s life since 2007, after discovering her love of power yoga at Bryan Kest’s studios in Santa Monica. In New York, she found her yoga home at Lyons Den Power Yoga, having practiced with founder Bethany Lyons for several years before she opened the studio. Camille completed her Baptiste Level One training with Baron Baptiste, Level Two and Art of Assisting with Paige Elenson, and Advanced Art of Assisting with Suzie Newcome. She is currently working towards her Tier One Baptiste Certification.
Camille’s goal as a teacher is to help students create a balance of effort and ease, in both their bodies and minds, through the practice of moving past their comfort zones into what is truly possible.

Rachel’s journey on her mat has been one of learning how to find “okayness.” A dancer throughout her whole life, she found yoga was a natural way to keep up her strength and flexibility. What she quickly learned, though, was that yoga provided so much more than a physical benefit. As she practiced more, she noticed her anxiety began to melt away and became replaced with self-love and confidence. Her passion for the power yoga sequence is rooted in how it marries tension and ease, allowing students to come to their edge and meet it with grace and simplicity. She loves how power yoga teaches you to be okay - despite physical sensation and mental or emotional challenges. Rachel was a member of the first 200-hour teacher training program at Humble Haven Yoga in 2017. She is very humbled and excited to extend her stay at Humble Haven as a power yoga instructor.
After her career as a division one swimmer for the University of Richmond, Mina came to yoga looking to gain flexibility and experience in an entirely new form of exercise. She quickly realized that yoga not only offered a strong physical practice, but also a new way of life. She was amazed by the way her body was able to maintain the strength she had developed as a swimmer, while also finding ease and an increased range of motion. She went on to receive her teacher training through Down Dog Yoga, a Power Vinyasa Yoga studio in Washington D.C. Being an athlete for her whole life, Mina became passionate about spreading power yoga to fellow athletes and others in her home city of RVA. She is excited about about being a part of the Humble Haven community and exposing more people to the many life changing aspects of yoga!
