The Anatomy of Vinyasa Yoga Workshop
Join Amy Walter for a deep dive into the anatomy of Vinyasa yoga. This experiential anatomy workshop is designed for yoga teachers who want to review and build their understanding of the musculo-skeletal system in asana.
Over the course of 2 in-person sessions, you will have the opportunity to:
Build your anatomical vocabulary to assist your further independent study of the body
Learn the major joints’ structure and function and how to target muscles to create specific joint movement in asana
Understand how to use external forces and resistance to target muscles in asana and other exercise
Learn and understand the proper asana modifications for progression, injury and skeletal variations.
This workshop is a part of our 2026 200hr Yoga Teacher Training and is open to anyone who is interested in deepening their understanding of the anatomy of Vinyasa yoga.

Amy offers fun challenging practices that invite self-inquiry regarding body and mind. Students are encouraged to practice with sincerity and levity. Amy’s students’ work hard and laugh hard often at the same time. As yoga practitioner since 1992 and yoga teacher since 2010, Amy brings both experience and expertise to the class room. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-500). She has trained hundreds of new yoga teachers in Yoga Alliance compliant Teacher Training Programs across the US.
